Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you offer Black and White Photography?
Yes, I offer Black and White, Sepia and color tints. Example: flowers in color and the rest of the photo in black and white.

Can I have an outfit change?
You may bring as many changes of clothes as you wish. I suggest no more then 3, but it is up to you if you wish to bring more. Please let me know if you plan on bring more than 3 changes of clothes so I can schedule more time for your session.I suggest similar colors when shooting a family or couple portrait. Black and Khaki, is great and so is Jeans and a plain shirt or similar colors of shirts. I suggest staying away from white, as it does not turn out the best. All the white colors seem to blend together to create a white blob. Please call me if you need further assistance with what to wear.

Can I bring a prop to have in the photos?
Yes, anything that tells who you are as a person is great. Examples for seniors: basketballs, musical instruments, grips from gymnastics, letterman coat, etc.

Can my pet be in my photos?
Yes, pets are always welcome. They are family too. Please let me know if you will bring your pet so I can come prepared with toys to get their attention.

Is it in extra charge if you take a photo of my friend and I while you are shooting my senior photos?
No, not at all. They can jump in on any pictures you wish. As I've said before, I charge by the hour. The content is entirely up to you.

What if my children are not cooperating?
I have no problem with rescheduling your photos for another time. However, I'm pretty confident we can make your child smile. It is also a great help if you bring a snack and a toy or blanket that your child knows. This helps calm the child and can also help get their attention. Also, it is best to schedule your childs portrait around their naptime.

Do you offer soft focus?
Yes, I can offer soft focus and other digital manipulation. Please just let me know if this is something that you would like.

Do you require money down to reserve you as our photographer?
I require 1/3 (usually $100) of your total wedding package when you book your date. This fee is nonrefundable.  This is because I have reserved a specific date and have turned down other weddings. Your remaining  balance is then due 2 weeks before your wedding date.

Can we buy the copyrights from you?
Yes, for any photo session, the images come to you on high resolution CD or DVD (your choice) and are included in my image release fees. I include these so that you have total control over your reprints, and you have the ability to reprint months or years later - you don't have to contact me, I don't have to bring them out of archive, or charge you for being a negative librarian etc.

What if I need a photo for the yearbook?
There is no extra fee for a yearbook photo. But I do ask that you let me know ahead of time that you will need one. I usually need at least 2 weeks notice for printing. I need to know what type of photo you would like. For example, a headshot, or full length. I also need to know what size. Some schools require certain size to be submitted.

If we want our photograph to be used in a newspaper announcement, is there an additional charge?
There is no extra fee to use photographs I have taken in newspaper announcements. Please let me know ahead of time that you will need one.

Where will my photos be taken? Can I request to be outside?
I currently offer only on-location photography. Hopefully in the future I will have a studio location. I have many great places to take outside photos but you can always choose the location as well. If you wish to be at a location that requires a fee, I ask that you cover that fee.

I want to get more copies of my photos. Can I copy them myself or does the photographer really own the copyrights still, even though I have the photos?

According to Federal Law, images produced by a professional (photographer, artist, writer, etc.) are copyrighted the moment they are created. The Untied States Federal Law prohibits copying or reproducing any material without permission from the owner of the copyright. In this case the photographer. Most photographers will also have a stamp or writing of some sort on the backs of the photographs stating their name and/or DO NOT COPY. Unlike many photographers, I personally release all copyrights for the photographs to you. Therefore, you may reprint your photographs as much as you like. You own the copyrights to the photographs.
You can make copies anywhere, anytime because you own the rights.

What happens if we are late for our photos on our wedding?
I only shoot one wedding in one day. I try not to schedule any weddings to close to each other to make room for any problems that may occur. I am yours for the duration of the time you hired me. If you run over the time that was paid for that is usually okay with my schedule. But please take into consideration the $37.50 fee for every 1/2 hour that exceeds the total time paid. If you go into overtime it will be due when you receive your wedding images.

When will I receive my photos and what do I do from there?
You will receive your photo CD or DVD about 1 week after the photo session or wedding date. The CD is yours to keep. Once you receive your images you are free to take them to any photo printing service of your choice - local or online (I can assist you if you need help finding a printing service). If you want any digital art or retouching services, I can usually provide the names and/or contact information of local digital artists to assist you with your requests.

What if I want more copies of my DVD?
Additional CDs or DVD may be purchased for $15.00 a copy.
